Marathon - Half-Marathon - 10K - 5K - Kids' 5K
Saturday, July 31, 2010- in beautiful Choteau, Montana
Artwork does not need to say “Grizzly Marathon” on it. The chosen work will be digitally modified to add our logo and desired wording.
The recommended size is 8.5 x 11 to ensure proper proportioning of the work onto the poster. Should your artwork be larger than this because of lack of information previously supplied regarding the the 2010 contest, the marathon will modify our poster to accommodate the chosen work.
Original artwork is preferred but digital reproductions, if quality, can be accepted.
If your artwork is chosen, the Grizzly Marathon will cover the expense to print a limited number of posters (approximately 250). The Marathon will use approximately 50 posters to advertise our event and the remaining posters will be sold as souvenirs. The net (after printing and advertising expenses) proceeds from this sale will be split and the Marathon will retain 50% of net and the artist will be awarded 50%.
The Marathon will own the original artwork for two years during which time no reproductions will be made or sold. After the two year time period, the artwork will be returned to the artist with the understanding that only 30 prints can be made and sold with 10% of those sales to be returned to the Marathon.
The original artwork will not be directly modified by the event. The printing process will include taking a photograph of the work and digitally adding our logo and information.
As this is our first year with the contest, not only are you able to participate in the artwork but the development of the guidelines and rules as well. If you have a concern or an issue that you would like addressed, please contact Syd Rogers at director@grizzlymarathon.com or
406-590-7937. Our interest is in creating a situation that is healthy and beneficial for both the artist and the marathon!
